We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, and detail-oriented Commis Chef to join our culinary team. Working closely under the guidance of Demi Chefs, Chefs de Partie, and the Executive Chef, the Commis Chef will assist in food preparation, station setup, cooking high-quality menu items, and maintaining strict kitchen sanitation and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, cut, and measure ingredients according to culinary team standards and standardized recipes.

• Station Setup (Mise en Place): Prepare and replenish assigned kitchen stations before meal services, ensuring required food products and tools are ready.

• Cooking Assistance: Assist senior chefs in cooking basic dishes, sauces, side items, and garnishes accurately and in a timely manner.

• Sanitation & Hygiene: Clean, sanitize, and organize work surfaces, kitchen equipment, and storage areas in compliance with HACCP and local health regulations.

• Stock & Storage: Assist in receiving, inspecting, rotating (FIFO method), and storing food ingredients at safe temperatures.

• Equipment Care: Safely operate and maintain kitchen tools and machinery, reporting broken equipment immediately to supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on kitchen experience in a hotel, resort, or premium restaurant setting.

• Knowledge: Understanding of basic knife skills, elementary cooking techniques, and HACCP food safety standards.

• Languages: Basic to intermediate proficiency in English.

• Physical Ability: Able to stand for long periods, work in high-temperature kitchen environments, and lift heavy supplies.
