Job Purpose

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience. This role involves taking orders, presenting menu recommendations, serving food and drinks efficiently, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Service & Order Taking:

  • Welcome and seat guests warmly with a professional and friendly attitude.

  • Present menus, answer guest inquiries, and provide detailed descriptions or recommendations regarding food items, beverages, and daily specials.

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system or order pads and communicate special dietary requirements to the kitchen staff.

• Service Execution:

  • Serve food and beverages promptly and correctly following established service standards and table etiquette.

  • Check on guests regularly during their meal to address additional requests and ensure complete satisfaction.

  • Clear tables efficiently (bussing), replace cutlery, and prepare tables for incoming guests.

• Billing & Payments:

  • Prepare total bills, present checks to guests, and process payments (cash, credit cards, or room charges) accurately.

• Side Work & Operations:

  • Perform pre-opening setup (Mise en Place) and closing duties, including polishing glassware, cutlery, refilling condiments, and restocking service stations.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized dining and service areas at all times.

• Compliance & Safety:

  • Adhere to all hygiene, food safety, and responsible alcohol service regulations.

  • Report any guest complaints, accidents, or maintenance issues to the F&B Supervisor immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements Waiter / Waitress

• Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma, vocational training, or diploma in Hospitality Operations.

  • Food Handling / Food Safety certification is an advantage.

• Experience:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a waiter/waitress in a hotel restaurant, fine dining venue, or busy café.

  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems (e.g., Micros, Simphony, Toast).

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English (additional languages like Arabic or French are a plus).

  • Strong customer service orientation with a warm, welcoming demeanor.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.
