Job Description

Banquet Waiter

As a Banquet Waiter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service during banquet events, including weddings, conferences, and other special occasions. Your role will involve setting up event spaces, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Event Setup:** Assist with the setup of banquet rooms and event spaces, including arranging tables and chairs, setting up table settings, and ensuring the overall aesthetic meets the client’s specifications.

2. **Guest Seating:** Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their assigned tables, and assist with seating arrangements as needed. Provide menus and any other necessary information to guests upon seating.

3. **Food and Beverage Service:** Serve food and beverages to guests according to established service standards. Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all guests receive their chosen meals promptly.

4. **Table Maintenance:** Monitor tables throughout the event, clearing empty plates, glasses, and utensils promptly to maintain a clean and organized dining environment. Reset tables as needed for subsequent courses.

5. **Beverage Service:** Provide beverage service, including pouring wine, serving cocktails, and replenishing drinks as necessary. Ensure that all guests have access to a variety of beverage options throughout the event.

6. **Guest Assistance:** Anticipate guests’ needs and provide attentive service throughout the event. Respond to guest requests promptly and courteously, ensuring that all requests are addressed to their satisfaction.

7. **Coordination with Kitchen Staff:** Communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and served according to the event timeline and guest preferences. Coordinate timing for courses to ensure a seamless dining experience.

8. **Problem Resolution:** Address any issues or concerns raised by guests promptly and professionally. Collaborate with other staff members and management to resolve problems and ensure guest satisfaction.

9. **Cash Handling:** Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and credit card transactions securely. Reconcile checks and provide receipts to guests as needed.

10. **Cleanup and Breakdown:** Assist with cleanup and breakdown of event spaces after the event, including clearing tables, removing decorations, and returning equipment to storage areas.

**Qualifications:**

1. Previous experience as a waiter or server in a banquet or catering environment preferred.
2. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a focus on guest satisfaction.
5. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the event schedule.
6. Professional appearance and demeanor, with a neat and well-groomed appearance.
7. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, including menu items and wine service.
8. Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages and stand for extended periods.
9. A positive attitude, enthusiasm for hospitality, and a genuine passion for providing memorable guest experiences.
10. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in hospitality is a plus.
