Brasserie Hostess

As a Brasserie Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for guests entering the brasserie, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth operations. Your role will involve greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and providing assistance to enhance the dining experience.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Guest Greeting:** Welcome guests to the brasserie with a warm and friendly demeanor. Provide a positive first impression by greeting guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.

2. **Reservation Management:** Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction. Record reservation details accurately and update seating charts accordingly.

3. **Seating Coordination:** Guide guests to their assigned tables and present menus. Ensure that seating is organized efficiently, taking into account table availability and guest preferences.

4. **Guest Assistance:** Provide assistance and information to guests, including menu recommendations, special requests, and accommodation of dietary restrictions. Address any questions or concerns promptly and courteously.

5. **Waitlist Management:** Manage the waitlist during peak dining hours, estimating wait times, and communicate updates to waiting guests. Offer alternatives or suggestions to accommodate guests during busy periods.

6. **Communication Liaison:** Serve as a liaison between guests, servers, kitchen staff, and management. Relay guest preferences, special requests, and feedback to ensure smooth communication and coordination.

7. **Upselling and Promotion:** Promote specials, featured dishes, and beverage offerings to guests, enhancing their dining experience and increasing revenue for the brasserie. Encourage guests to try new menu items or seasonal offerings.

8. **Guest Recognition:** Build rapport with repeat guests and regular patrons by remembering their preferences and special occasions. Acknowledge and appreciate their loyalty, providing personalized service whenever possible.

9. **Maintaining Lobby Area:** Keep the lobby area clean, organized, and welcoming. Ensure that promotional materials, signage, and displays are current and visually appealing.

10. **Problem Resolution:** Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and efficiently. Listen attentively to guest feedback, take appropriate action to address issues, and escalate unresolved matters to management as needed.

**Qualifications:**

1. Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a restaurant or similar setting.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
3. Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage reservations and seating arrangements effectively.
4. Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
5. Professional appearance and demeanor, with a polished and well-groomed appearance.
6. Familiarity with POS systems and reservation management software preferred.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the brasserie’s schedule.
8. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for providing excellent service to guests.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in hospitality is a plus.
10. Ability to multitask and remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
