Job Description

Bell Attendant

As a Bell Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to guests by assisting with their luggage, offering information about the hotel, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming arrival and departure experience. Your role is crucial in setting a positive first and last impression for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Arrival and Departure:
    • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with unloading luggage from vehicles.
    • Escort guests to their rooms, carrying their luggage and explaining room features and amenities.
    • Assist guests with checking out, including transporting luggage from rooms to the lobby and loading it into vehicles.
  2. Luggage Handling:
    • Safely and efficiently transport guest luggage to and from rooms.
    • Store and retrieve luggage in the hotel’s luggage storage area as needed.
    • Ensure luggage is properly tagged and handled with care to avoid damage.
  3. Guest Assistance:
    • Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
    • Assist with arranging transportation, making reservations, and other guest requests.
    • Deliver messages, packages, and other items to guest rooms promptly.
  4. Lobby and Entrance Maintenance:
    • Keep the lobby, entrance, and bell stand areas clean, organized, and presentable.
    • Assist with maintaining the appearance of the hotel’s entrance by ensuring it is free of debris and obstacles.
  5. Customer Service:
    • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
    • Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service to enhance their stay.
    • Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns, escalating issues to management as needed.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the front office, concierge, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors about guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy luggage.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license (if driving responsibilities are required).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, and transporting luggage and other items (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Hotel lobby and guest areas with frequent interaction with guests and staff.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions when assisting guests outside.
