Housing attendant

As a Housing Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall upkeep of residential areas, including individual rooms and common areas. Your role is crucial in ensuring a clean, comfortable, and safe living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Room Maintenance:
    • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
    • Replace linens, towels, and amenities as needed.
    • Report any maintenance issues or damages to the Housing Manager promptly.
  2. Common Area Upkeep:
    • Clean and maintain common areas such as lounges, kitchens, hallways, and laundry rooms.
    • Ensure these areas are tidy, free of debris, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
    • Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and other housekeeping items.
    • Request replenishment of supplies as needed to ensure continuous availability.
    • Properly store and handle cleaning supplies and equipment.
  4. Health and Safety:
    • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while performing cleaning tasks.
    • Ensure all areas are free of hazards and report any safety concerns to the Housing Manager.
    • Use cleaning chemicals safely and correctly according to instructions and safety data sheets.
  5. Customer Service:
    • Interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Address resident requests and concerns promptly and efficiently.
    • Provide information and assistance as needed to enhance resident satisfaction.
  6. Special Projects:
    • Assist with deep cleaning projects, including carpet cleaning, window washing, and furniture polishing.
    • Help with setting up and cleaning after events or special functions within the housing facility.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Housing Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying cleaning supplies and equipment (up to 30 pounds).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching.

Work Environment:

  • Residential housing environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment noise.
  • Interaction with residents and staff members.
