Waiter F&B

The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests, taking and serving food and beverage orders, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Waiter will also assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Service: Greet guests warmly as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and present menus. Provide detailed information about the menu, including daily specials and promotions.
  • Order Taking: Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen. Confirm orders with guests to avoid any discrepancies.
  • Order Delivery: Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently. Ensure that all orders are complete and meet presentation standards before serving.
  • Table Maintenance: Monitor tables for cleanliness and tidiness. Clear used plates, glasses, and utensils, and reset tables for the next guests. Refill water and other beverages as needed.
  • Guest Interaction: Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction. Address any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally. Provide additional assistance or adjustments to orders as needed.
  • Billing and Payment: Prepare and present checks to guests, process payments accurately, and provide change as necessary. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations. Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other waitstaff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Support colleagues during busy periods.
  • Upselling: Promote and upsell additional items, such as appetizers, desserts, and special beverages, to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Be prepared to make recommendations and answer questions about menu items.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or complaints from guests promptly and effectively. Escalate significant problems to the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
    • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity for handling trays, dishes, and utensils.
