Job Description

Runner F&B

The F&B Runner is responsible for ensuring that food and beverages are delivered promptly and accurately to guests. This role supports the waitstaff and kitchen team by expediting orders, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and assisting in providing an exceptional dining experience. The F&B Runner plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the service team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Delivery: Promptly and accurately deliver food and beverage orders from the kitchen to the guests’ tables. Ensure that orders are complete and presentation meets the restaurant’s standards.
  • Support Waitstaff: Assist servers with tasks such as refilling water, clearing plates, resetting tables, and responding to guest requests in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and efficient communication between the kitchen and dining room to ensure the timely delivery of orders. Relay any guest feedback or special requests to the kitchen and waitstaff.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, service stations, and kitchen pass. Ensure that all areas are tidy and ready for service.
  • Setup and Breakdown: Assist with the setup and breakdown of service areas, including arranging tables, chairs, and service stations. Ensure that the dining area is ready for guests.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide courteous and friendly service to guests. Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Restocking: Keep service stations stocked with necessary supplies such as utensils, napkins, condiments, and beverages. Ensure that supplies are readily available for service.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Ensure that food is handled and served in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the waitstaff, kitchen team, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service. Support team members as needed.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during service. Escalate any significant problems to the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Customer service-oriented with a positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity for handling trays, dishes, and utensils.
