Waitress

As a waitress, your primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a restaurant or similar dining establishment. Your role is crucial in creating a positive dining experience for patrons and contributing to the overall success of the establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests with a friendly attitude, seat them at appropriate tables, and provide menus.
  2. Taking Orders: Accurately record food and beverage orders from customers and ensure special requests or dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen staff.
  3. Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver orders to the correct tables in a timely manner, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to customer preferences.
  4. Recommending and Upselling: Provide recommendations on food and beverage options, including specials, and upsell additional items to increase sales.
  5. Handling Payments: Present checks to customers, process payments accurately, and provide any necessary changes. Answer customer queries regarding bills or payments.
  6. Addressing Customer Concerns: Respond promptly and professionally to customer complaints or concerns, seeking assistance from a supervisor if necessary, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  7. Table Maintenance: Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, and dining areas. Reset tables for new guests.
  8. Collaborating with the Team: Coordinate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other waitstaff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Communicate customer needs or modifications to the kitchen staff.
  9. Following Health and Safety Standards: Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of food, maintaining personal cleanliness, and ensuring a clean and sanitized work area.
  10. Knowledge of Menu and Specials: Stay updated on menu items, daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods to accurately answer customer inquiries and make recommendations.

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change
