Position Overview:
The Barista plays a key role in delivering an exceptional coffee experience to customers by expertly crafting high-quality beverages and providing outstanding service in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a blend of technical skill, attention to detail, product knowledge, and a genuine passion for hospitality. As the face of the coffee shop or café, the Barista not only prepares drinks and snacks but also represents the brand through positive interaction with guests, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and upholding high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Barista – Beverage Preparation & Presentation:

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages including espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, hot chocolate, smoothies, and seasonal beverages.

Operate and maintain coffee equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, milk frothers, and blenders.

Ensure beverages are prepared to company or brand standards in terms of flavor, consistency, temperature, and appearance.

Follow standardized recipes and adjust ingredients when necessary to meet customer preferences (e.g., extra foam, dairy alternatives, reduced sugar).
2. Customer Service – Barista:

Greet all customers with a warm, friendly attitude and maintain a positive demeanor throughout interactions.

Take accurate customer orders, answer questions about the menu, and make recommendations when needed.

Handle complaints or special requests professionally and escalate issues to the supervisor or manager as needed.

Engage with regular customers and build rapport to create a welcoming and personalized experience.
3. Sales & POS Operation:

Accurately process transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system, including handling cash, credit cards, digital wallets, and loyalty programs.

Maintain knowledge of ongoing promotions, new products, and up-selling techniques to increase average ticket size.

Suggest food or pastry pairings with drinks to enhance the customer experience and support café sales goals.
4. Cleanliness & Organization:

Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation throughout the shift, including coffee machines, countertops, and utensils.

Follow sanitation procedures to clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces.

Dispose of waste, clean tables and seating areas, and restock napkins, stirrers, condiments, and supplies as needed.

Ensure proper storage and rotation of products to maintain freshness and food safety standards.
5. Inventory & Stocking:

Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, disposable cups, and other supplies.

Assist with receiving, checking, and organizing deliveries.

Notify management when stock is low or expired products are identified.

Participate in inventory counts and ensure accurate record-keeping of product usage.
6. Teamwork & Professionalism:
