Job Description


As a Runner, you play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of restaurant service by assisting servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Your primary responsibility is to deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to the guests’ tables, as well as perform various tasks to support the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Food and Beverage Delivery:** Collect food and beverage orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to the appropriate tables promptly and accurately, ensuring that each guest receives their order correctly and promptly.

2. **Table Setup:** Assist with setting up tables for service, including arranging place settings, utensils, and condiments. Ensure that tables are properly equipped and ready for guests before they arrive.

3. **Bussing Tables:** Clear tables of used dishes, glassware, and utensils efficiently after guests have finished their meals. Dispose of waste and debris in designated receptacles and reset tables promptly for incoming guests.

4. **Water Service:** Refill water glasses for guests throughout their meal service, ensuring that glasses are kept filled and guests’ needs are attended to promptly.

5. **Assisting Servers:** Support servers with various tasks, such as running food orders, refilling beverages, and responding to guest requests. Collaborate closely with servers to ensure smooth and efficient service.

6. **Assisting Bartenders:** Assist bartenders by delivering drinks to tables, replenishing bar supplies, and clearing empty glasses from the bar area. Assist with preparing garnishes and ingredients as needed.

7. **Maintaining Cleanliness:** Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including clearing debris, wiping down tables, and ensuring that floors are clean and free of spills or hazards.

8. **Assisting Kitchen Staff:** Assist kitchen staff with tasks such as food preparation, plating dishes, and expediting orders during busy periods. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders.

9. **Guest Interaction:** Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their requests and inquiries courteously. Provide assistance and information as needed to enhance the guest experience.

10. **Team Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with other restaurant staff members, including servers, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen staff, to ensure seamless service and a positive dining experience for guests.


1. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
3. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
4. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
5. Physical stamina and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
7. Professional appearance and demeanor.
8. A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
9. High school diploma or equivalent.
