Job Description

IRD (In-Room Dining) Waiter

As an IRD Waiter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional in-room dining service to guests staying in the hotel. Your role will involve taking orders, delivering food and beverages to guest rooms, and ensuring guest satisfaction with prompt and attentive service.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Guest Interaction:** Greet guests warmly upon arrival at their room, present the in-room dining menu, and assist with menu selections. Provide recommendations and descriptions of menu items as needed.

2. **Order Taking:** Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that special requests or dietary restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen staff.

3. **Food and Beverage Service:** Prepare trays with ordered items, ensuring proper presentation and garnishing. Deliver orders to guest rooms promptly and courteously, adhering to service standards and guest preferences.

4. **Table Setup:** Arrange food and beverage items on the tray in an organized and appealing manner, including condiments, utensils, and napkins. Ensure that all necessary items for the meal are included and properly presented.

5. **Guest Assistance:** Anticipate guests’ needs and provide attentive service throughout the meal. Check back with guests after delivery to ensure satisfaction and address any additional requests or concerns.

6. **Billing and Payment:** Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, including cash and credit card transactions. Provide itemized receipts and thank guests for their patronage.

7. **Menu Knowledge:** Maintain a thorough understanding of the in-room dining menu, including food and beverage offerings, preparation methods, and pricing. Stay informed about daily specials and promotions.

8. **Cleanliness and Sanitation:** Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food and beverages, as well as cleanliness standards for trays and serving utensils.

9. **Coordination with Kitchen:** Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely preparation of orders. Coordinate delivery times with guest preferences and hotel operations.

10. **Problem Resolution:** Address any issues or concerns raised by guests promptly and professionally. Collaborate with other staff members and management to resolve problems and ensure guest satisfaction.

**Qualifications:**

1. Previous experience as a waiter or server in a restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality setting preferred.
2. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a focus on guest satisfaction.
5. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the hotel.
6. Professional appearance and demeanor, with a neat and well-groomed appearance.
7. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, including menu items and wine service.
8. Ability to navigate guest rooms and hotel corridors safely and efficiently.
9. A positive attitude, enthusiasm for hospitality, and a genuine passion for providing memorable guest experiences.
10. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in hospitality is a plus.
