Commis I
As a Commis 1, you will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team in the preparation and production of high-quality dishes. Under the supervision of senior chefs, you will perform a variety of tasks to contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including cutting, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and guidelines provided by senior chefs.
- Cooking:
- Cook and assemble dishes according to established standards and recipes.
- Monitor cooking processes to ensure proper temperature, timing, and presentation.
- Kitchen Maintenance:
- Keep workstations clean and organized.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to senior staff.
- Stock Management:
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels.
- Notify senior chefs of low stock items in a timely manner.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions from senior chefs.
- Adherence to Hygiene Standards:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Quality Control:
- Participate in quality control measures to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
Qualifications:
- Culinary school education or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
