Kids Club Attendant
Position Overview:
A Kids Club Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and engagement of children in a supervised recreational environment, typically found in hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or recreational centers. The primary role of the Kids Club Attendant is to facilitate fun and educational activities for children while maintaining a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment.
This role involves creating a positive experience for children and their families, ensuring that activities are both entertaining and age-appropriate. Kids Club Attendants work closely with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and enjoyable experience for the children under their care, and provide parents with peace of mind while their children are engaged in supervised activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision & Safety

Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times during their participation in Kids Club activities.

Enforce safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment.

Constantly monitor the children’s activities, ensuring they are supervised and safe.

Address any emergencies or incidents promptly and report them to management as necessary.

Ensure all children are signed in and out by their parents or guardians for accountability.
2. Organizing Activities & Entertainment

Plan and conduct a variety of age-appropriate activities that are fun, educational, and engaging for children.

Activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor games, themed parties, storytelling, scavenger hunts, sports, and educational programs.

Incorporate interactive games and activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Adapt activities based on the age, interests, and abilities of the children attending.

Ensure that all equipment, toys, and materials used for activities are in safe working condition.
3. Interacting with Children & Parents

Develop positive relationships with children to create an environment where they feel safe and comfortable.

Communicate effectively with children, using clear, friendly, and encouraging language.

Assist children with any personal needs or challenges during activities (e.g., bathroom visits, emotional support).

Maintain open communication with parents or guardians, informing them of their children’s activities, behavior, and overall experience.

Provide parents with any relevant information regarding activities or events happening during the day.
4. Team Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with other staff members, including supervisors and managers, to ensure smooth operation of the Kids Club.

Participate in regular team meetings to discuss schedules, activities, and children’s needs.

Follow the guidelines set by management regarding rules, policies, and procedures.

Assist with setup and cleanup of the Kids Club area to ensure the space is always safe, clean, and ready for the next group of children.
5. Ensuring a Positive Experience

Strive to create a fun and positive atmosphere that ensures children are engaged and excited about the activities offered.

Provide children with personalized attention to make them feel special and valued.

Handle challenging behavior in a professional manner, ensuring children’s emotional needs are addressed with patience and care.

6. Administrative Duties

Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance and any incidents that occur during activities.

Complete any necessary forms or reports required by management regarding the children’s participation or behavior.

Follow all policies related to child protection, health, and safety.

Assist with creating and updating activity schedules and program materials as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (a background in child development, early childhood education, or recreation is a plus).

Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting is preferred.

Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or a related field is beneficial.
Skills & Competencies

Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.

Creativity and energy to design and execute fun, engaging activities for kids.

Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children, particularly in challenging or stressful situations.

Leadership abilities to manage and engage children in group activities.

First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) is often required for safety reasons.
