Job Description
Bellboy
The Bellboy serves as the first and last point of physical contact for hotel guests, playing a vital role in creating memorable first impressions and farewell experiences. This position requires a combination of physical stamina, attentive service, and extensive knowledge of hotel operations to assist guests with luggage, transportation, and local information while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Arrival & Departure Services
- Greet arriving guests curbside with a warm welcome
- Assist with unloading luggage from vehicles and transporting to lobby
- Escort guests to their rooms while explaining hotel facilities
- Deliver luggage promptly and arrange items according to guest preferences
- Handle departures by collecting luggage and assisting with loading
- Coordinate with valet and door staff for smooth guest transitions
2. Luggage & Item Management
- Tag and store luggage for early arrivals or late departures
- Maintain secure storage areas with proper documentation
- Handle fragile items and special packages with extra care
- Manage lost-and-found items with proper logging procedures
3. Guest Assistance & Concierge Support
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
- Arrange transportation (taxis, limousines, rideshares) as requested
- Deliver messages, mail, and packages to guest rooms
- Assist with room changes by transporting guest belongings
- Run errands for guests (purchases, dry cleaning pickup, etc.)
4. Hotel Operations Support
- Maintain cleanliness and order in lobby and entrance areas
- Assist front desk with room keys and information delivery
- Support housekeeping with urgent room preparation needs
- Help with meeting/event setup when required
- Monitor and report maintenance issues in public areas
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Physical Ability:Â Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and standing for extended periods
- Customer Focus:Â Exceptional interpersonal skills with service-oriented mindset
- Local Knowledge:Â Familiarity with area attractions, transportation, and services
- Professionalism:Â Neat appearance with uniform adherence
- Language Skills:Â Fluency in English; additional languages preferred
- Availability:Â Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays
- Experience:Â Previous hotel or customer service experience beneficial
Work Environment & Conditions
- Fast-paced, physically demanding role with constant guest interaction
- Indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions (for properties with exterior entrances)
- Requires mobility throughout entire property including elevators, stairs, and parking areas
- Shift work with varying hours including early mornings and late nights
