Job Description


  1. Warm Welcome:
    • Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival.
    • Ensure a positive first impression by providing a hospitable and inviting atmosphere.
  2. Seating Arrangements:
    • Escort guests to their assigned tables or waiting areas.
    • Manage the seating chart efficiently, taking into account reservations and walk-ins.
  3. Guest Assistance:
    • Assist guests with coat checks and provide information about the venue, menu, or special promotions.
    • Attend to any immediate needs or requests to enhance the overall guest experience.
  4. Reservation Management:
    • Take and manage reservations, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient table turnover.
    • Communicate with the kitchen and waitstaff to coordinate reservations and special requests.
  5. Communication Hub:
    • Liaise between guests and the restaurant staff to ensure smooth communication.
    • Relay special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.
  6. Maintain Appearance:
    • Ensure that the hostess stand and waiting areas are clean, organized, and well-presented.
    • Monitor and replenish promotional materials, menus, and other informational resources.
  7. Manage Waitlists:
    • Keep track of waiting guests and provide estimated wait times.
    • Notify guests when their table is ready and escort them to the seating area.
  8. Upselling and Promotion:
    • Promote special menu items, beverages, or promotions to enhance the guest experience.
    • Encourage guests to participate in loyalty programs or provide feedback.
  9. Conflict Resolution:
    • Handle guest concerns or issues with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction.
    • Escalate unresolved matters to the appropriate management personnel.
  10. Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the kitchen, waitstaff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
    • Provide support to fellow team members during peak hours or special events.


  • Previous experience as a hostess or in customer service is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Positive and friendly attitude, even during busy or challenging situations.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily indoor settings, such as restaurants or event venues.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods may be required.
