Waiter
Position Summary
As a Waiter, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service in a restaurant or hospitality environment. You will ensure an outstanding dining experience by accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing guests’ needs with professionalism and friendliness.
Key Responsibilities of a Waiter
- Guest Interaction
- Greet guests promptly with a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverages, including specials and promotions.
- Order Management
- Take guest orders accurately, ensuring special requests are noted.
- Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff efficiently.
- Food and Beverage Service
- Serve food and drinks to guests promptly, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
- Check back with guests to confirm satisfaction and address any concerns or additional requests.
- Payment Processing
- Process payments, handle cash, credit cards, or other methods of payment accurately.
- Provide guests with receipts and correct change as needed.
- Area Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
- Assist with pre- and post-service tasks, including setting up and clearing tables.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.
- Support teammates during busy shifts to maintain efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Health and Safety Compliance
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and team members.
Qualifications for the Waiter Role
- Experience: Previous experience as a waiter or in a customer-facing role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Basic math skills for processing payments.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with menu items, including the ability to make informed recommendations.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy trays and other objects as required.
