Hostess – Food & Beverage


Department: Food & Beverage / Front of House
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / F&B Supervisor
Location: Saudi Arabia
Employment Type: Full-Time / Shift-Based


Position Overview

We are looking for a poised, friendly, and service-oriented Hostess to join our Food & Beverage team. As the first point of contact for guests, the Hostess plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a polished appearance, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage reservations and seating efficiently, and a warm, confident manner when interacting with guests. Whether greeting VIPs, coordinating table rotations, or supporting the service team during busy periods, the Hostess is central to the restaurant’s success and guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities Hostess

1. Guest Reception & Greeting

  • Greet guests with a warm, professional, and genuine smile as they arrive.

  • Offer a friendly introduction to the venue and assist with coats or personal belongings if required.

  • Escort guests to their assigned tables and ensure they are comfortable and satisfied with the seating.

  • Recognize returning guests and address them by name when possible to personalize the experience.

2. Reservation Management

  • Manage the reservation system (manual or digital) and coordinate table assignments based on availability, guest preferences, and server rotation.

  • Answer phone calls and emails regarding bookings, cancellations, and special requests.

  • Maintain an organized reservation log and communicate upcoming reservations to the service team.

  • Confirm daily and weekly reservations and assist in planning for peak periods, group bookings, and events.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with restaurant management, waitstaff, and kitchen to ensure smooth table turnover and service flow.

  • Communicate estimated wait times to guests during busy periods, and provide regular updates with professionalism and courtesy.

  • Monitor dining room activity to ensure tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset in a timely manner.

  • Assist in managing guest flow during high-traffic hours and special events.

4. Guest Relations

  • Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, or feedback with patience, positivity, and a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Provide menu information, recommendations, and guidance if required.

  • Promote daily specials, events, or loyalty programs when applicable.

  • Uphold a high standard of guest care that reflects the values and image of the venue.

5. Presentation & Professionalism

  • Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and adhere to the restaurant’s dress code.

  • Keep the hostess stand, entrance area, and reservation materials neat, clean, and organized at all times.

  • Maintain calm, friendly composure in high-pressure or fast-paced service periods.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or guest-facing hospitality role is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Polished appearance, with a confident and friendly attitude.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask efficiently.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Basic computer and reservation system proficiency.

  • Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in hospitality is an advantage.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

  • Comfortable walking guests to tables and navigating the dining area.

  • Able to lift light materials (menus, reservation books, signage).
