Hostess F&B
As a Hostess, you will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming experience for guests entering the restaurant or dining area. You will manage reservations, oversee the seating process, and ensure the efficient operation of the front-of-house area. Your role involves greeting guests, coordinating seating arrangements, and handling guest inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception:
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival.
- Manage the guest waitlist and provide estimated wait times.
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring they are comfortably seated.
- Reservation and Seating Management:
- Handle reservations using the restaurant’s booking system, including managing changes and cancellations.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure tables are set and prepared for incoming guests.
- Monitor dining room activity and adjust seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
- Guest Interaction:
- Provide information about the restaurant’s menu, daily specials, and services.
- Address and resolve guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collect guest feedback to improve the dining experience and report any issues to management.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, guest preferences, and special requests.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing seating charts, managing guest lists, and handling phone calls.
- Ensure the front-of-house area is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Team Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with coordinating large groups or special events, ensuring that all arrangements are in place.
- Support team members during busy periods and provide assistance as needed.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the front-of-house area adheres to the restaurant’s cleanliness and safety standards.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in hospitality management are a plus.
- Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer service role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with reservation systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dining area for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a restaurant environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and various cleaning agents.
Work Environment:
- Front-of-house area within the restaurant, hotel, or resort.
- Frequent interaction with guests, staff, and management.
