Job Description
F&B waiter/waitress
The Food and Beverage (F&B) Waiter/Waitress plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing attentive service and ensuring guests’ needs are met promptly. This position involves taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Service: Welcome guests warmly, seat them, and provide menus. Offer assistance with menu choices, answer questions, and provide recommendations when needed.
- Order Taking: Accurately record and relay food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar. Ensure special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated and accommodated.
- Table Service: Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, following proper service techniques and presentation standards.
- Table Maintenance: Clear tables efficiently, reset them, and ensure a clean and tidy dining environment for incoming guests.
- Payment Processing: Present bills, accept payments, process transactions accurately, and return change or receipts promptly. Handle cash and credit card payments following established procedures.
- Guest Interaction: Foster positive relationships with guests, address their needs, and promptly attend to any concerns or special requests.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure a smooth flow of service and timely delivery of orders.
- Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
- Compliance: Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and alcohol service regulations, as well as restaurant policies and procedures.
- Upselling: Promote additional menu items, specials, and beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or similar establishment is preferred but not required; training may be provided.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive and friendly attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and handling cash.
- Physical ability to carry trays, lift and move items, and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
