Hostess F&B
As a Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for guests in the dining establishment. Your role involves warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, seating guests, and ensuring a positive dining experience. You will work closely with the service team to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Provide guests with menus and inform them of their server’s name.
- Answer any initial questions and provide information about the restaurant’s offerings and services.
- Reservation Management:
- Manage reservations using the restaurant’s booking system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Confirm reservations and handle any changes or cancellations.
- Accommodate special seating requests when possible.
- Seating Coordination:
- Monitor dining room activity to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
- Communicate with servers to ensure a balanced distribution of tables.
- Maintain a clean and organized waiting area, offering refreshments to guests as needed.
- Guest Interaction:
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Provide information about the menu, daily specials, and any promotions.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of guest preferences, special occasions, and dietary restrictions.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as printing menus, preparing the seating chart, and updating reservation logs.
- Help with marketing initiatives by collecting guest feedback and promoting special events.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the restaurant staff to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate guest preferences and special requests to servers and kitchen staff.
- Assist servers and bussers during busy periods by helping with table setup, clearing, and resetting.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Follow all restaurant policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with reservation systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a restaurant environment, including exposure to heat, noise, and various cleaning agents.
Work Environment:
- Dining area and reception within the hotel, resort, or restaurant.
