Job Description

Yoga & Meditation Teacher

As a Yoga & Meditation Teacher, you will be responsible for leading guests through a variety of yoga and meditation classes designed to improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Your role includes creating a welcoming environment, tailoring classes to meet the needs of participants, and promoting a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Class Instruction:
    • Plan and lead yoga and meditation classes for guests of all levels, ensuring a safe and engaging experience.
    • Modify poses and techniques to accommodate varying skill levels and physical abilities.
    • Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and adjustments to help participants achieve proper alignment and form.
  2. Program Development:
    • Develop and design class schedules, routines, and themes to keep sessions varied and interesting.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in yoga and meditation practices.
    • Create special workshops or events to attract and engage guests.
  3. Guest Interaction:
    • Welcome and greet guests, making them feel comfortable and motivated to participate.
    • Answer questions and provide guidance on yoga and meditation practices, techniques, and benefits.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive community among participants.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all classes are conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
    • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitization of equipment and spaces.
    • Address any medical concerns or limitations of participants with sensitivity and professionalism.
  5. Studio Maintenance:
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yoga and meditation spaces.
    • Ensure all equipment, such as mats, blocks, and bolsters, are in good condition and available for use.
    • Report any maintenance needs or concerns to the Wellness Manager.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Continue personal education and development in yoga and meditation to bring the best practices to guests.
    • Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences as required.
    • Network with other wellness professionals to exchange knowledge and ideas.

Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program (RYT 200 or equivalent).
  • Additional certification in meditation instruction is preferred.
  • Proven experience teaching yoga and meditation classes to diverse groups.
  • Strong knowledge of yoga and meditation techniques, anatomy, and philosophy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a calming and motivating atmosphere.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate and physically perform a wide range of yoga postures.
  • Capable of standing, bending, stretching, and moving for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including indoor studios and outdoor spaces.

Work Environment:

  • Wellness center, fitness studio, or outdoor spaces within the hotel/resort/spa.
  • Interaction with guests, staff, and other wellness professionals.
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
