Job Description

Door attendant

As a Door Attendant, you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel. You will provide a warm welcome, assist with entry and exit, and ensure the smooth flow of guests and visitors. Your role is essential in creating a positive first impression and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Arrival and Departure:
    • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
    • Open doors for guests and assist with entry and exit from the hotel.
    • Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage from vehicles and arranging for transportation if needed.
  2. Customer Service:
    • Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
    • Answer guest inquiries and direct them to the appropriate locations within the hotel.
    • Anticipate guest needs and offer assistance proactively.
  3. Traffic and Safety Management:
    • Monitor and manage the flow of traffic at the hotel entrance to ensure the safety of guests and vehicles.
    • Assist with valet parking services as needed.
    • Ensure the entrance area is clean, safe, and free of obstacles.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with bell attendants, valet staff, and the front office team to ensure seamless service.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors about guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
    • Assist with bell services and luggage handling during busy periods.
  5. Professionalism:
    • Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times.
    • Exhibit a friendly and positive demeanor while interacting with guests and colleagues.
    • Handle guest complaints or concerns with patience and professionalism, escalating issues to management as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license (if driving responsibilities are required).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel entrance for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying luggage and other items (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Hotel entrance and lobby area with frequent interaction with guests and staff.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions when assisting guests outside.
